#5 of the ten to read first. The community index, and the only major resource under CC0 — so also the only one you can freely reuse as a base. Five of its entries are dead; ours says which.
What it is
The community's index of everything. Sections: Quick Start, Community, Reading, Videos, Courses, Certifications, Maps in the Wild, Research Papers, Apps (mapping / doctrine assessment / commercial platforms), Tools & Scripts (development, ChatGPT), Templates (mapping, doctrine assessment), Events, Workshops, Meetups. It is far more comprehensive than any single curator's list — it is the source for the ~16 regional meetups, the wmap parser family across six languages, the four ChatGPT GPTs, the LaTeX and yEd and OmniGraffle templates, the Spanish-language course (Joaquín Peña Fernández, https://mapasdewardley.com/estrategia/acelera-tu-aprendizia/), Cory Foy's course, and the Coursera Miro project by Tricia Bagley.
Limitations
Curation lags reality. Despite the March 2026 update, the README still lists MapKeep (dead since 30 May 2026) and MapScript (dead) in its Apps section, and its Events section stops at Map Camp 2021 while Map Camp 2026/2027 are live. Many meetup and Twitter/X links date from 2020–2022 and are likely rotted. Verify every link you take from it. The ChatGPT GPT links are all chat.openai.com/g/... — an older URL scheme that may no longer resolve.
