What it is

The only formal certification in Wardley Mapping. Assessment is 50 multiple-choice questions, 1 hour, 80% pass mark, in English, with training listed as optional and no prerequisites. The syllabus covers mapping history, map design elements, the strategy lifecycle, value chain formulation, climatic patterns, evolution, competitive-advantage patterns, economic forecasting, and outsourcing decisions. Target audience is explicitly senior: "Strategic Decision Makers, CEOs, C-Suite, Board members, VPs, Product Managers."

Limitations

Not endorsed by Simon Wardley — he is not mentioned on the page, and the technique's CC licence means anyone may certify against it. Price is not published. A 50-question MCQ cannot assess whether someone can actually draw a useful map, which is the entire skill. Treat as credential, not competence.
