What it is

The best-known applied Wardley mapping book and the one most likely to land with an engineering leadership audience. Subtitled Power the Future and Accelerate Your Organization to the Modern Cloud, it uses "Wardley Mapping and other sense-making approaches" to help organisations anticipate market changes and user needs, structured around a four-phase flywheel. David Anderson is explicitly described by the publisher as a member of the Wardley Mapping community, and Simon Wardley wrote the foreword, endorsing it for understanding competitive landscapes in the modern industrial era. It is the clearest evidence that mapping has escaped its originator and been productised into a repeatable organisational method.

Limitations

Commercial and closed — nothing quotable at length. Mapping is one technique among several; it is not a mapping textbook. Cloud/serverless framing dates it somewhat. From 2022.
